Ex-Mormons, Anti-Mormons, Others?
Dr. Phil and I want to know when you people are going to stop acting stupid and stop shrugging off your own personal nature of being entirely IRRESPONSIBLE on the Mormon Church.
We've noticed that you like to blame the Mormon Church for everything you cannot do because you're alcoholics, drug addicts, porn addicts, adulterers, smokers, child and spouse abusers, generally ignorant, and simply cannot hang cause someone hurt your feelings.
So are you going to stop being irresponsible or are you going to continue to blame the church and it's memebership cause you can't hack it?

I have never cheated on my wife.
I have never been drunk.
I have never smoked.
I have never abused anyone, child or adult.
I have never been a porn addict.
I won't say that I've never been irresponsible (I was, after all, a teenager once), but I will say that I take care of my family and we lead a happy life.
I may be ignorant about neuroscience, but I'm certainly NOT ignorant about the Church. I have read more LDS-related books and articles than you would probably care to know, and spent two years preaching it. I'd be willing to bet that YOU, however, have likely never read the entire Bible, or D&C for that matter. You've probably never read Lectures on Faith, Journal of Discourses, History of the Church, Doctrines of Salvation, Answers to Gospel Questions, Mormon Doctrine, or any similar books, have you? You've probably read the Book of Mormon 3 or 4 times, though. Good job. You're not ignorant.
I AM, however, critical of the LDS Church. I am also an active member of your Church. I don't blame the Church for anything except lying... well, maybe that and its mistreatment of homosexuals and blacks in the past. I just happen to believe that it's not true and am not afraid to make it known.
I will say, though, that my criticisms are never directed towards Mormons themselves. They are directed uniquely at the Church, its history, and its doctrines. Get off my case, get off your Zion Soapbox, and learn to take it before you dish it out. Look at the answers you're getting... even other members of your own Church are trashing you, man. Where did you learn to talk to people like that? It certainly wasn't in Primary.

Mormonism gets criticized a lot, just as Scientology does. People thinks it's weird that Mormons believe that their undergarments give them special protection, that the Garden of Eden was located near modern-day Kansas City, and that God lives in outer space near a "celestial body" called Kolob. But that's not all that Mormons, or members of the LDS Church, believe. For clarification, see:

uh. Because its more fun to pick on Mormons?! Ive noticed that too. Everyone has a story.... oh i knew a Mormon who beat his wife. No one ever mentions a wife beater 's religion if they were Lutheran or crocodile worshipers.
They just hold lds people to a higher standard i geuss.

Turn the other cheeck. If you associate only with those that are like you, or that you like -- how are you doing anything different than the rest of the world? Bless those that despitefully use you or make fun of you especially if it is for the sake of the Lord.
NOW -- ask yourself, how different is your question to those posed by the so-called anti/ex-mormons and others?

People will continue to trash-talk, as long as they have mouths, and the freedom of speech. We have the freedom of religion, and YOU need to just relax!
Coming on here and whining about it is not going to solve anything! In fact, it may even make things worse!
And not all ex-mormons are as you say. Some simply do not believe, and that is their God-given right! Not all "non-mormons" bash our faith.
Please be more mindful and careful of what you say. Just continue to do what YOU are supposed to do, and let everyone else just be!

of your list, I'm a smoker ex mormon. nobody hurt my feelings, as you say, I just decided it was all a big scam. I don't care if you're mormon, I don't "blame" your religion for anything except the way the drinking laws work in Utah. other than that, all it's guilty of is swindling it's gullible believers out of 10% of their money.
tell me, is your attitude in this question indicative of all mormons? if so, you have just failed as a missionary.

Was that suppose to make any sense? I know LDS members who do all of those things you mentioned. All religions have the same problem because we are all humans and fall short of the glory of God. Do you think you are sin free?

The only thing I blame the LDS church for is being a nuisance. Every week I play with my kids either at the park or in front of my house and every week the Mormon recruiters come by. I've asked them to stop and they keep on coming. Last month I had to threaten to throw them off my property because they kept on talking and wouldn't leave my yard.

Dude, go back to bed then get up again, you got up on the wrong side this morning. It's bad enough that they get all riled up and start talking smack, there's no need for you to too. Just chill and stop trying to channel Dr. Phil.

As any missionary would say, your "question" is less effective. Even if the anti-ex-post-mormons fall into your categories (which I know norrispenguin, JimB, imasis, and others do not) that is not the way to reach them.
