Why do my allergies kick in at sunset every night?

I have seasonal allergies and asthma. I take Claritin. Sometimes the house is shut up and air conditioned; when it's cooler I open the windows. It doesn't seem to make a difference. At work I'm going in and out of buildings, some air conditioned and some not, and during the day I'm fine. But when night falls, I get stuffed up and sneezy. What gives?

There are a lot of allergens in the home, but since you work & are in & out a lot, i would suspect you are in the category of the people who have their allergens attack more at night than they day.

Mine attack of a morning. Everyone is different , some are worse in a.m. & some in the p.m. & that 's no fault of yours.

the clartin is good, & they make a generic of it. You could also get the liquid benadryl & take just a little of that at night. & see if that helps.

If you're really runny, you can't hardly beat just plain old Actifed.

It sounds like you have an allergy to something in or around your home. It could be pets or mold allergies or plants in or around your home. Or if someone smokes in the home, that will do it too. To see what exactly you are allergic to, I would ask your doctor to do some allergy testing.

You may be allergic to some things inside your home and or because of your supine position you get more nasal congestion.
