Had a similar problem with my megane scenic. After changing coils and all sorts of stuff it tuned out to be the catalytic converter.
I'm not saying thats whats wrong with yours, but its worth taking a look.

Just a thought, could be an obstructed fuel tank breather. Maybe you aren't getting enough fuel through and when you lift off it's just enough to let it catch up for a while. I'd start there for the easiest and no-cost possible snag.
I'd agree with Kari t, a quick look is worth a thousand words, perhaps you have a friend or neighbour who has some knowledge and would take a look for you. It IS usually something simple, if only we could see it.

I think it maybe an exhaust problem, the cataylitic converter maybe,if not the convertor then a silencer further back (blocked).
Have you heard any rattleing or unusual sounding exhaust note.
I had a similar problem on my old Astra a few years ago,I only came upon it because I noticed the vapour that was being expeled was just rising slowy and not being blown (puffed) back.
Give it a quick check in the morning when the temp is cooler

I don't know but I used to have a fiesta and it kept cutting out when I was slowing down or stopping at junction, roundabout etc. Couple of people nearly ended into back of me because of this - 3 different garages couldn't fix it - had to sell it in the end up.

Model and engine size needed
Could be something really simple like a collapsing breather or vacuum hose leak

this is a poser, could be a misfire somewhere, air cleaner, choking, dirty spark plugs.air mass meter, faulty wiring to ecu unit ,fuel filter fault,..without seeing car,and listening to engine, not easy to find fault!!

it sounds as if your air filter is blocked you should change this every year at least even if you do not drive the car, this is the first thing to do as it is inexpensive and you could probably do this yourself
