Is ALANA an Armenian name???

Question

I wanna ask my Armenian friends, if they have ever heard an ARMENIAN name such as "ALANA" and apparently i descovered its FEMALE name....
So since i never heard of such name i'd like to discuss if its or not? if YES you'd be kind if explain more nd tell me What type of armenian name is it? like what region, what type of armenian's use that name? Definitly not iranian armenians.

Mercury jan, why do you want to know if it is Armenian or not, there are lots of Armenian with names from other countries and they are good Armenians, "hayaser" and the oposit. 
Anyway Alana is close to an Armenian name, we have Alina it is not Armenian but we make it sound Armenian.

Alana is generally taken as a feminine form of Alan -- thus the "beautiful/handsome" meaning I believe someone already mentioned -- or as a variant of Alannah, related to the Irish "a leanbh" (basically "oh, child" or "darling child").

It can also stem from the tribal name of the Alans, "an Iranian people who migrated into Europe in the 4th and 5th centuries." (from Behind the Name ... maybe that's the link you're looking for?)
