97 Blazer, Service Engine Light Problem?

sounds like the ecu is performing self test on the egr o2 sensor systems. does every 15seconds or so. if the egr passages are getting clogged, the ecu commands a light for self test. the next test passes and is not sent to history. the computer uses the egr to test the 02 sensor. it has to happen quickly to pickup changes in available oxygen in order to trim fuel. have a cheap fuel injection service performed. dont use the bottle stuff on the shelves. not strong enough.

the only thing i have seen cause this that couldn't be found for a while was a bad gas cap,it wouldn't hold pressure,and this would set the light off,but it wouldn't give a code for it,the only way we found out about it was we lost the cap and had to buy a new one,then the light went off,and that was done by accident,you might try changing the cap on it,that may take care of it,good luck on it.

I had this problem. Dont put crappy gas in it. some cheap gas can have water in it.
