I'm not good at math... can someone help?
I want to figure this out but have no idea how... I took an exam recently. The maximum amount of points possible is 800, and the least amount possible is 200 (there were 200 questions, I assume they give you a point for answering even if you chose the wrong answer...). I got 604 points. Can someone help me figure out what percentage I got correct? Can you please also show what steps you did to figure it out?
Thank You!

You just do 604/800=0.755
The multiply that by 100, which gives you 75.5%

well you would get 4 for a correct answer and 1 for an incorrect answer.
So assume you got 1 for every question(200 points) and an additional 3 for the correct ones. So all you do is:
604 - 200 = 404
404 / 3 = 137.6 (correct answers)
137.6/200 *100= 67%

The total points for all correct answers would be 600 (800-200). Your total correct points were 404 (again subtracting the 'given' 200). Divide 404 into 600 to get your percentage score (67.3%).

That is 4 points for each correctly answered question and 1 point for each incorrectly answered question.
let x be the number of correct answers and y the number of incorrect answers.
4x+1y=604 -- (1)
x+y=200 -- (2)
plug this into (1)
4x+(200-x)=604
3x=404
x=134.66=134 (correct)
y=66 (wrong)
percentage correct=(134/200) x 100=67%
4x=404
x=101 (correct answers)
y=99 (wrong answers)
x=13

Well, if we just subtract 200 from all the values, then you got 404 from 0 to 600. Then divide 404 by 600 and you get 0.67333 (the 3s repeat), or 67.333%.
That said, the scoring system you're being marked under may not work precisely that way. Without knowing how it works I can't guarantee that my answer is correct.

1) 200 correct questions -----> 800 points
1 correct answer ------------> x
x = 4 points each correct question
2) 4 points -----------> 1 correct answer
604 points --------> y correct answers
y = 151 correct answers
3) 200 correct answers ------> 100%
151 correct answers ------> z
z = 75,5 % of correct answers
There are more fast and direct ways to get the answer.
If you consider 1 point even for wrong answers, the calculation is more difficult and longer.
Hope to have helped.

75.5% When ever you want to figure out your percentage on a test or anything, you can use a calculator take your points that you got then divide that number by the points possible and that will give you your answer.
Example 604 / 800= 75.5%
