What do you think of the commercials that show paying cash for lunch slows down the line vs. paying by credit?

They want us to use a credit/debit card for everything, saying it is more convenient than cash.

What is your take? Is this true? Is it good for the retailer for us to not use cash for small purchases, or does it raise their cost; Is it good for the customer?

retailer pays 3 to 7% to credit card company, not good for the prices we pay because the cash customers pay the same as credit card customers

psyching us for the paperless society

I think it is the stupidest thing. If you charge a small amount on your card, lets say the $4 lunch, like they do in these commercials, by the time you pay it off, you have spent $20. I think that credit companies are realizing that people are getting smart to credit, and are trying to keep us in debt. I almost always use cash, unless I use my debit card. I have credit cards, all have a zero balance. I hate credit companies.

Faster to use cash of course.

Banks want us to use credit cards - they make money every time you use it, either at the restaurant's expense or yours.

Really hating credit cards. Use cash almost all the time now. Greedy, piggy bankers.
