The super bowl XLV Pregame show had an E-trade Parody of the announcers on Fox Sports. It was a riot.

Anyone know where I can see it again?

Not SHOULD, but COULD? Same for George W Bush.

So if one licensed plumber and one unlicensed one, can make $280K profit, pay the unlicensed guy $60k, and say another 60k for the owner.

280 k plus 120k is $400K after expenses except salaries.

So what would a qualified plumber or anyone pay for this cash flow?

I would venture the business would be worth at least $2 Million to another plumber (licensed) working for someone else.

And Joe's taxes would go up a lousy $900 a year, but medical insurance would be cheaper.

Seams like the taxes would be a minor issue compared to other things.

But what would be paid for this business,and can Joe the plumber afford to buy it?

It would be $600. On $280K income.

He would be more concerned about the cost of health care.

I fear that this tactic is not going to work this time.

Should we grit our teeth and get used to it, or... or... what?

Some time in the last few months, I saw a picture or video of an automobile that had been modified to add a "streamlined" nose, rear wheel skirts, and other items.

All made by someones personal ingenuity, not a manufacturer.

I cannot find it again. Maybe it was tree-hugger, or a yahoo group, I dont know.

What is with people? This one couple comes up and starts taking samples of potato chips, (lots of them) repeatedly with ther bare hands, several times each.

They stuff the food into their mouths, then go back for more.

Once I asked ' Do you know what those tongs are for?' and they told me I was rude, so, I guess they knew?

Why is this going on? The tongs are there and very easy to use.

They want us to use a credit/debit card for everything, saying it is more convenient than cash.

What is your take? Is this true? Is it good for the retailer for us to not use cash for small purchases, or does it raise their cost; Is it good for the customer?

Standing behind you, mis-interprets the article and tries to have a converstion with you about it? (just a business article about loan interest rate predictions)

do you ignore them, give them a nasty look, leave, or what? Or is this considered OK now?

We send a little money to help make ends meet and it has helped. The grade school kids are responding to some tutoring.

Now for the health problems: Mom 28, dad 30, both at least 50lbs over ideal. Kids- girls- age 6 and 7, already at least 30 lbs over.

We know lots of healthy tips, but most cost money. They live in a large metro area in Michigan, so shopping should be OK except for good produce in the winter.

I think they just buy the convenience food on sale, like cheap pizza, etc.

From my view maybe starting with "how to cook", or "how to read labels" books, or maybe pick a meal and give them improvement ideas- ie breakfast tips. 'Prevention' magazine?

I know having little money can be a problem, and having finicky kids can drive a mom crazy.

Any tips, books, ideas, successes, programs, please.

Why now for the immigration issue, with so much else stuff going on? DOJ, Syria, Iran's UK issue.

Especialy since it looks like a real bad immigration proposal ($3k/year?!)

Your home was comfortable and paid for, you had good health insurance, none of your close friends or realtives were needy, you were happily married and children grown - all had pretty good health, had a decent car- basically , no big problems.
