Does the food I eat make me look more westernized?

I am an Asian American, born in America and raised eating a variety of different types of food.

Through appearance alone, for some reason, a person from Asia can immediately guess that I'm a product of western culture. I don't even have to say a word. I can even be dressed like they are - they can immediately tell.

I've heard that because of western food containing more protein, asian americans grow taller than their counterparts in asia.

Is it because of the food I eat?

Probably yes and it's not only in the US. I live in Japan and I'm a Filipina, married to a Japanese, my son turned 5 last month and he is 115cm tall. He drinks milk and nothing else. The food here are fresh and more natural. My 11-year old adopted daughter is 150cm. and 100% Filipina.

It's not the food you eat. If you have family or friends who live in Asia then you should know that most Asians back home think that their American family are different. Your appearance, the way you look at people and acknowledge their presence, the way you greet them and show respect are all indicative of your background and upbringing. If Asian people can tell just by looking at you that you are the product of a Western culture, it is more likely the things about that are giving clues to your background.
