What exactly does "Puppy love" mean?

Puppy love is an informal term for feelings of love, particularly between young people during adolescence, so-called for its resemblance to the adoring, worshipful affection that may be felt by a puppy. The term is often used in a derogatory fashion, describing emotions which are shallow and transient in comparison to other forms of love such as romantic love.

Puppy love, also commonly known as a "crush", can also describe the love or lust of a child or adolescent for an adult. For example, a student being attracted to his or her teacher could be considered puppy love. In this case, the term relates an infatuation which is not reciprocated. The term may meet with resistance from some people as patronising and belittling of genuine emotion.

A young person who has not really experienced love or a relationship before. They have a crush or puppy love. Like puppy fat, it goes away when you grow up. It's also a childish kind of love, Because your only young and dont understand the real meaning or the gravity of love and feelings, etc. Not trying to be mean, we all live and learn. Everyone goes through the same things.

It means that the love starts (and sometimes ends) the same way a puppy gets adopted. You fall for the cute and cuddly, the wonderful things about puppies. Then when the puppy grows up to be a dog, if you haven't developed anything more than liking the cute and cuddly, what's left? If you adopt a Human puppy the same way, it is sometimes a recipe for heartbreak, for you and the "puppy". But dag nab it, you just can't resist those sad eyes and the eager expression can you? If you can you have a harder heart than I do.
