Can I swap DirecTV TiVo's with the same access card? PLEASE READ!?

Most likely not. Whenever you purchase a previously owned DirecTV Tivo then DirecTV requires you to purchase a NEW card for it. Now you can TRY to swap your card, it may or may not work. What happens with the NEWER DirecTV cards is that they are considered "Married" to the DirecTivo once it is installed. Now I have heard and read on forums that some people get lucky when they have to call direcTV customer support to get the DirecTivo connected on to their accoutns and the Customer Rep allowed them to use their original card. Now I had purchased 3 from Ebay and had to purchase 3 NEW cards, it is NOT too bad though there is a 1 time fee of $20.

Now If I may ask what version is your OLDER DirecTivo? If you wanted to UPGRADE your older 30Hours ( I am presuming it is a 35 Hour) DirecTivo there is some software you can download online for $20 for an ISO image of the DirecTV Tivo software legally, install it on up to a 400GB hard drive, reinstall back into your DirecTivo and Enjoy up to 370-380 Hours of Recording time. (Or you can put 2 NEW hard drives into the DirecTivo for up to almost 800 Hours of recording Time). The software can be found here: http://www.dvrupgrade.com/ Next IF you wanted to have the TWO DirecTivos on your account (DirecTV will ONLY charge another $5 to add a second DirecTivo onto your account) then you can purchase software that ENABLES the USB ports, then you can purchase a USB Ethernet Adapter to allow you to connect your DirecTivo onto your homes wired/wireless Network. Now you can use programs to transfer all the shows/movies to a Networked PC for Editing and Burning to DVD. Also you can have MRV (MultiRoom Viewing) which BOTH DirecTivo's would see each other on your network and you can transfer a movie lets say from the Family room direcTivo to your Bedroom direcTivo to watch in there. It would transfer over your Network. You can then also setup your DirecTivo so you can access it from ANY internet location to schedule recording of movies/shows in case you are not going to make it home in time.
