The reciprocal is merely the fraction inverted. There is no way you are going to make it rational because it is an irrational number.

The Reciprocal of a number A is 1/A
Hence if
A = 2â2/2
or
A = â2
Its reciprocal is,
1/A = 1/â2
To simplify it further, multiply it by (â2/â2)
Hence,
(1/â2) (â2/â2)
= â2/2

okay..the reciprocal of 2â2/2
cancel 2 out first leaving â2..
â2
getting the reciprocal,
you will get 1/â2
making it rational, you have to put the square root at the numerator..
so as the property says:
you can multiply the equations by â2/â2 because it is equal to 1..
(1) (â2)
--- = -----
(â2) (â2)
getting:
â2/2 = answer..
this is the rational equation...
hope this helps!

you cant find the reciprocal of an irrational number like anything with a root in it, so undefined is a good answer.

2â2 2
----- = ----- x â2= 1 x â2=â2
2 2
the reciprical of â2 is 1/â2 or 1/ 2^-2
or 1/1/2^2 or 2^2 which is 4
