Using waste plastic in road construction?

I had asked this question before too, recently found out some information about people using waste plastic in road construction, it is said to improve the durability of the road.

I think this is a good idea to use waste plastic as it will reduce the plastic garbage from filling sites and choking rivers , has anyone here actually worked with this technology ?

Have you tried talking to your govt reps. to use waste plastic in road construction ?

I am writing from India ,i recently saw a TV programme on the above topic ,one of the engineers involved in road construction using this technology spoke on the dual benefits of using waste plastic in road construction ,in the Bombay or surrounding areas ,he stressed that durability of road surface with this technology was greatly enhanced ,unfortunately i do not recall the name of the programme nor that of the engineer interviewed.

I'm seeing these materials used in playground equipment. Obviously cities have crunched the numbers and are making the plunge, which is huge, because it creates a vast market for the product. The kids don't know the difference, and neither will drivers, but as a taxpayer I feel good knowing these kinds of choices are being made.

I believe the jury is still out on durability, and I do have concerns about chemical byproducts leeching out after years of heat and wear and tear. I hope there is water quality testing built into the process in waterways near highways where this material is being used.

I am under the impression that planed road tarmac is already 95% recycled ...I also imagine that plastics would not really be suitable due to the noxious poisons created in the melt process ...apart from the lack of adhesive properties twixt normal road, and tyre ... however i think the material used as anti skid roughage (in some areas) might already contain an element of recycled plastic, amalgamated with ash from incinerated refuse but i'm not sure if it is possible to reconstitute this material, it might be the lost 5%...?

except road construciont, there still have another way to solve waste plastic that is convert

them to energy- fuel oil and diesel. Bur, Burning and landfill is not suitable for waste

plastic, cos, they may caused a white pollution to environmental. so, if you want disposing

waste plastic, you can recycled them turn them to fuel oil and diesel, usually, PP, PE, ABS,

has a high oil rate about 90%, the fuel oil canbe used heating for heavy industires, such as

cement factory, steel factory, brick factory and so on. Diesel oil can be used for tractors,

    trucks, and power generator etc.
