Few days back I saw a program on television showing some really yummy looking recipes made from bamboo shoots, I think they mentioned Manipur.

I would like to know some of these recipes (vegetarian only), can anyone give me such recipes. Iam talking about the North Eastern states of India where bamboo shoots are very popular in diet.

African countries seem to always face food and water scarcity , so I was thinking that will planting of tropical fruit trees growing in Indian subcontinent and which can survive in arid areas , help the people of Africa.

These trees bear fruit and should help reduce the impact of food scarcity in this region.

What do you think ?

A single common man feels afraid to fight the corrupt people, if I tell you that I can give a magic mantra (chant) which is 100% effective against evil and corrupt people only criteria being your cause is just and fair and truth. Will you use it against the evil people ?

Also let us say that this chant is for each major religion like one for Christians, one for Hindus , one for Muslims etc.

When the same persons who are entrusted by the common man to enforce law and order start misusing it to harass common man and help criminals do they lose their job and power by virtue of being corrupt and law breakers ?

I think that anyone who misuses power loses it the moment he/she decides to misuse it and no institution created to support the common man can support such corrupt persons or justify their behavior.

I have always respected the Sikhs and my understanding is that they are part of Hindus who were dedicated to protect the unarmed Hindu farmers against attacks from outside.

Hence I was surprised to see this website, extremely surprised. I agree there is corruption in India and all honest Indians are fighting corruption the politics of divide and rule, castism and all related evils. We are all in it. And how come our brothers who were supposed to protect us are asking for separation ?

Isnt this an irony the same warriors who took an oath to protect Hindus and unarmed innocent people against evil attackers are wanting to desert them ?

Shouldnt we be united to fight this evil of corruption and wrong governance, religious division ?

For the first time , the Americans have acknowledged that the funds they supplied to Pakistan to fight against Al-Qaeda have been used to acquire weapons systems against India.

And this in just last few years, the US has been funding Pakistan for many years now, so how much of this "aid" money has been used against India ?

If a country misuses such funds is it justified in getting more funds ?

This was a statement made by the late Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru in one of his speeches.

But when the entire internal security system including the judiciary (judgement givers) and police(implementers) is being accused of corruption at all levels how can a common man even hope of implementing Nehru's statement.

How is it possible for the common man to survive and sustain in a system that has lost entire ethical base and accountability to the people and thrives on rampant corruption ?

There is also a feeling among some people that corruption also triggers terrorism what do you feel about this, is it true/false.

Why is it that we never see the human rights group ever complain about the rights abuse by terrorists ? Or have I missed anything here ?

Every time we read the news about the Human Rights group protesting against the atrocities by military, cops, communal forces but never have I ever seen them protesting against bomb explosions, rape and killing of innocent kids by terrorists, ethnic cleansing of people of various faiths from terrorists infested areas.

Is it that the human rights groups are only worried about rights a certain faith or section of world ?

I have been buying lots of original VCD's and DVD'd, all these contain an excessive amount of packing sometimes even 3 layers, plastic, cardboard/paper, plastic casing ....

I thought that was really wasteful to just pack 1 DVD disc have so much packaging on top. Perhaps Iam paying extra for that packaging too.

Many people claim that there was a sustained religious cleansing happening after the division of 1947 in Pakistan and Kashmir. Indian government and many Kashmiri Hindus who had to flee Kashmir vouch for the same.

Also, after 1947 there is a sizeable reduction in non-Muslim population in Pakistan and Kashmir, does this indicate that religious cleansing has infact happened ?

In 1947 during after Kashmir decided to merge with India , the Pakistani army attacked Kashmir and started killing thousands of Kashmiris, does anyone has an exact count of how many innocent civilians have been killed by the armed militants in Kashmir ?

I had asked this question before too, recently found out some information about people using waste plastic in road construction, it is said to improve the durability of the road.

I think this is a good idea to use waste plastic as it will reduce the plastic garbage from filling sites and choking rivers , has anyone here actually worked with this technology ?

I read sometime back that plastic bags and car tyres can be re-used in road construction which actually make the roads stronger and last longer. Does anyone have more information on this, or actually worked on this.

I mean it looks like huge growth in illietrate peoples population is causing so many problems in India. Our trains,buses,roads are crowded. There are slums and filth everywhere in cities.
