Why not plant tropical fruit trees in Africa ?

African countries seem to always face food and water scarcity , so I was thinking that will planting of tropical fruit trees growing in Indian subcontinent and which can survive in arid areas , help the people of Africa.

These trees bear fruit and should help reduce the impact of food scarcity in this region.

What do you think ?

I was thinking of trees like tamarind, berries (bor), jamun etc.
