Is this a good way to protest the war?

The Vietnam War Memorial was recently defaced. I respect the right to protest, but this is unacceptable.

Update:

My first immediate thought was the same as your John Himself... but the grafiti did make direct references to the war.

I am not convinced this was an act of war protesting at this time. It is to soon to jump to conclusions. In my very small town, we display a Vietnam era helicopter as a veterans memorial. The helicopter was constantly defaced, vandalized, and defecated on. This is in the red state type area I live in. We were pretty sure it was the work of some bone headed teenagers. So some of us, Viet Nam Veterans, wrote an editorial in the local paper stating that we protected our helicopters in Viet Nam, and if necessary, we would protect this one. We strongly suggested to local parents that they reign in their kids before we caught them and dealt with them ourselves. The vandalism stopped. It was not a war protest, it was a bunch of spoiled brats of unthinking parents.

Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. I just now heard about the democrat party's move on dot org's boneheaded ad.

Their protests did no longer end the conflict, yet they did effect many interior the government , the draft age human beings and scholars to protest. This replaced right into a conflict which did no longer have the completed help of the persons. the tip result replaced right into a loss with the aid of this us of a. The conflict replaced into no longer prevented. It replaced into in progression while all the protesting began.

The intrgrity of our people is getting so bad, Protest as they will -but damage the the Memorial is so low. the morals of some have gone out the door. When I see things like this, negative, disrespect, I do not understand where they are coming from to feel entitled to all our freedom but do not believe in standing up for the freedom we have,

It has to have been liberal war protesters.

Look at the last presidential election.

How many times did we hear of Cons defacing liberals personal property because of the bumper stickers they had on their cars?

    TRY NONE!

How many times did we hear about liberals defacing Cons personal property because of the bumper stickers they had on their cars?

    TOO MANY TO COUNT!

Not counting all the republican campaign offices that were broken into and stolen from and destroyed. Yard signs that were stolen and or defaced. Billboards that were defaced.

It's the liberal way. The childish way.

I agree it is unacceptable. I'll be doing my normal weekend drill with my unit while the big September 15 protest is going on.

I guess they've moved from spitting on the troops coming home to pissing on the memories of the ones who died.

This from the "Support The Troops Not The War" crowd

Thats the intelligance of a protester to do something like this! It doesn't occur to them what affect it has on the families? Many of those soldiers were drafted and didn't have a choice!

it is despicable. i would be willing to bet that it is the work of some of the teens who's parent rant and rave but who would probably be shocked their children were involved..you reap what you sow and they planted those anti-American sentiments in their kids minds. this is one time i would be for public canning and a good butt spanking as well as criminal charges being pressed against whoever did it.

Criminal Trespassing is the actual name, not protesting. The Wall is all of ours, like the Lincoln Monument, Jefferson Monument, and Washington Monument. When a criminal does this, it breaks party lines and he/she should be jailed.
