What do you know about Lexis Nexis?
I am looking for a job and I got an e-mail message about an interesting opening in Oklahoma City. However, I can not find Lexis Nexis in the Oklahoma City phone book. That makes me suspect that it is not a genuine company. Has anybody ever done business with Lexis Nexis? If so, is Lexis Nexis the kind of company that you might like to work for?

Lexis Nexis is a research program that mostly universities utilize. It is a very reputable company and you probably won't find them in the phone book.
Did you try to search them online???

Lexis Nexis is definitely a real company (ask any lawyer, law student, or paralegal . . . ), and in competition with another company called Westlaw to be the top search engine for attorneys/law firms. They also have a pretty big publishing wing. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how it would be to work for them since I'm just a law student. You might try asking a few Lexis reps at your local law schools for advice.

It's VERY expensive. Your college paid the subscription. Your best bets are either to go back to the school to use their network, or install a VPN (virtual private network) connection on your home computer so that you can be virtually on the campus network from home. The technology dept can tell you how to set that up, if they support it.
