Copper atoms crystallize in a unit cell of a cubic close packing lattice. How many copper atoms are contained in a single unit cell?
Europium crystalizes in a body-centered cubic system with atoms at all lattice points and an edge length of 4.58 angstroms. Calculate its density in g/cm3.

In order to represent a cubic close packing lattice, you need 8 atoms at the vertices of the cube. Since there is only 1/8 of each atom inside the cubic packing lattice, the sum of all the partial atoms comes to 1 atom. Therefore, there is 1 copper atom in a single unit cell (it's divided into 8 parts).
A body-centered cubic system has 2 atoms per unit cell.
1 mol of Eu = 152 g of Eu.
1 mol of Eu occuplies 6.023e23 / 2 * (4.58 A)3
= 6.023e23 / 2 * (4.58e-8 cm)3
= 28.93 cm3
density is 152 g / 28.93 cm3
= 5.25 g/cm3

I really hope that you mean you saw a dane/ lab mix at the shelter and are thinking about adopting, and not ordering a custom made mutt from a puppy mill or backyard breeder. Labradoodle, peek-a-poo, schnoodle, etc. whatever. AKA- designer mutts Now, there's nothing wrong with a mutt. I've had several who were pound puppies, and also AKC registered dogs (dane, golden recliner, lab, etc). Both my lab and dane (3 yrs and 10 months) both have hip problems. Danes are prone to several serious health issues, and can be very expensive to fix (my boy also has OCD, and the surgery was over $6k so far). But I would NEVER suggest it's ok to mix 2 different breed dogs on purpose. There are SO many unwanted puppies out there today, there's no excuse for breeding a dog unless you're trying to improve the breed. And this is not possible when making designer mutts. If you do ask a BYB to make you this mix, what do you suppose will happen to the other 10-14 puppies that aren't pre-sold? Hopefully they'd still go to homes (although this only encourages puppy mills to keep making more and more). But if they aren't sold by 2-3 months old, chances are they will end up abandoned on the side of the road (as my shep-x and his 9 siblings were at 5 weeks) or in a pound. Again, I hope you saw this mix pup and want to adopt. Please don't get a designer mutt.
