a type of bean, common in latin cuisine, in special Puerto Rican cuisine. They are green and round like peas but different texture and a totally different flavor if you pick them early, after a while they turn brown or yellowish. Both ways they make an excellent stew. In spanish they are called gandules verdes (when young), gandules secos (when brown).
