The very words Dwaita means dualism and Advaita means non dualism. One shoud know what are these two.

Hinduism says one is human soul or consiousness or jeevatma and the second one is cosmic soul or God or Paramatma.

Advaita phylosophy says both are one at the same. For this they give several examples: Ornaments like necklace, chain, ring, eaarstuds etc made of gold. Even thiough they are identified as individual objects they have come out of gold only and when melted become gold only.

Similarly when we keep several mirrors outside during day time, the reflection of solar sun can be seen separately in each mirror. Whjen the mirrors are removed to a shade, the reflection disappears. Therefore the soul in all beings is nothing but a reflection of cosmic soul. The moment the body is decayed the souls reflection get disappeared. The philosophy says people believe existace of individual souls as real due to only illusion. The moment the illusion is gone one will gain the Jnana of nondualism. Adi Sankara profounded this theory.

Dwiatha phylosophy was started by Madhwacharya. His phylosophy says both are real that means jeevatma and paramatma. All beings coming into the world is Gods play(Leela) and people by devotion(Bhakthi) will reach the Gods abode and remain there under his care but never become God themselves.

Ramanuja profounded the theory that is callwed Visisthadwaitha which was a middle path. He also says that the soul that submits to God (saranagathi) will reach the abode (salokyam) nearer to God (sameepyam) and becoming yet closer is (sayujyam)

If we take chronological sequence, Adisankara came firtst and tought Advaita and then Ramanuja Visisthadwaitha and last Madhwacharya with dwaitha theory.

They were during 7/8th century AD, 13th century AD and 15th century AD respectively. I only feel with change of timeand civilisations or social conditions the theories have undergone changes.

These can be explained even further but for the question this is sufficient.

Dualism and monoism are the two schools of thought propounded by scholars while discussing about the almighty. Sankara was the author of Advaitha philosophy, i.e., monoism. Advaitha believes in only one God who is all pervasive, omnicient, omnipotent etc. All living and non living objects form part of God and there is no separate god as such. "isa vasyam idham sarvam" says Isavasya Upanishad. There is only one God who lives everywhere. " Aham bhramhasmi", like vedic quotes are based on this principle. But in dualism, i.e., dwaitham, God is counted as a separate entity. Jeevathma and Paramathma differentiation is the crux of Dwaita philosophy.

Dwaitham is a concept as the name suggests, of Duality. It says, God and Man are two entierly different entities.

It holds proof from some scriptures which are basic.

The concept is " Vayu Sarvotthama".....

Advitha, is the opposite of Dwaitha. It means no duality.

God and man are the same. everything around is the form of God.

There is a slight variation of the concept of Adhvitha known as Visishtadwaitha. It says, God is "in" everything around us.

But overall, Advaitha and Visishtadwaitha sre similar.

3 acharyas were there, each for one form,

Advaitha was brued by Adi Shankara.

    Visishtadwaitha had Ramanuja and

    Dwaitha had Madwacharya.
