Well, this is not necessarily a suggestion but just to tell you what we did to maybe give you some inspiration - we wanted a traditional but not popular name so we chose Arthur. My Other Half loves that film "King Arthur" with Clive Owen etc and also anything to do with British history and mythology!!!

Arthur was also my Other Half's grandad's name and my great uncle's name. Plus I'm Welsh, Other Half is English and Arthur was King of the Ancient Britons so we thought it was quite fitting!

There are lots of traditional names that have become really popular at the moment - Thomas, James, Samuel etc. Henry and George are also nice traditional names although getting a bit popular for my tastes now. And Jack is number 1 in the popularity charts for about the 4th year running!! Arthur doesn't seem to have come back at all, most people look at me in amazement when I tell then what my son's name is, lol!

I did wonder whether it would become more popular after the film "Arthur and the Invisibles" though! My Arthur was born 2 months before that film came out so it drives me mad when people ask if thats where I got his name from!!!

As for your friend, I can only express my deep sympathy. surely nothing is more painful or tragic than to lose a baby like this and I hope she is getting all the support she can to help her through this awful time. My thoughts are with her and poor little William.

PS: William is my brother's name! It was really rare when he was born in 1978, but seems to have picked up in popularity since Prince William was born, I know several little "William'"s!

James is a strong, classic name, and sounds good with Morrison. Also try:

You can use William as a middle name to honor your friend's loss, then call him that...

Frederick William Morrison becomes F. William Morrison, called Will (or what you prefer).

Edward perhaps. It can be shortened to Ed then. Though it can be common - in my year there are 3 Edwards who would have been born in 1993/94. However the year is made up of 300 people.

I also like the name Nathaniel (Nat) although I'm not alltogether to keen on boy's names...

The traditional names no longer get used because everyone names their boys Austin or some other name that used to be a Surname.

I know how hard this is, i'm pregnant with my forth and me and my hubby are finding it impossible to agree on a name, our son is called Zac-Reece and i like original name so i may not be able to help but my short-list of names are Mason and Laker
