Pop it then! I know how you feel, I get like that if it won't pop. If you haven't because it won't, here are a few things that help me:

Drink a cup of hot chamomile tea (100% safe for pregnancy).

Take a shower and let the hot water beat on your neck.

    Lavender aromatherapy

Have someone rub your neck for a few minutes

Lay on the couch and close your eyes. Put on soft music and put a warm washcloth on your forehead. This should help you relax which should release some of the tension in your neck.

    Heating pad on your neck.

Find a massage therapist who is certified to work on pregnant women. Even though it is just your neck, you can get the option to do the full body 1 hour massage (do it, it's worth the money) and there are certain pressure points that should be avoided during pregnancy. Call around, you should be able to find one relatively easily.

Tylenol. I think you can take 1000mg every six hours.

DO NOT take valerian root. While it works great for tension and back pain it is NOT SAFE for pregnancy.

It could just be a tension headache, or it could be cervical radiculopathy, try looking that up. In any case, do what you can now and treat the symptoms, if the pain persists on days further throughout the week, try and get an MRI, a good way to see if you do have Cervical Radiculopathy, you have some of the symptoms for it any ways. Oh and btw... cold compress works if you're trying to constrict blood flow (i.e. for headaches, migraines, etc. lessens the pain) but when considering muscular pain, you want to use heated compresses to loosen up the muscles and when they are loose you want to move them around so they don't tighten up again the same way they were previously. Also, you don't need to go into a dark room unless you are having sensitivity to light (photophobia), which people generally get with migraines, but if your not feeling it, that will server no purpose.

Why haven't you popped it yourself? Sometimes just turning my head pops it....Or go to a chiropractor as the others say. Is there some link between cracking necks/backs and pregnancy I don't know about?

NEVER POP YOUR NECK. My brother is an orthopedic surgeon and he says that you can break the small delicate bones and cartilage in your neck doing that and has seen many people who did that. Go to a chiropractor or a massage therapist and get an adjustment.

the pain you feel in your neck is caused from your nerves, you have a pinched nerve. I had the same problem when I was about 8 months pregnant.. there isn't mush you can do but try and have better support when you sleep.. this will help the pinched nerve that is causing your neck so much pain...

YOU SHOULD PROBALLY GET A MASSAGE TO RELAX YOUR NECK MUSCLES ON A CONTINUING BASIS. THEN SEE A CHIROPRACTOR FOR SOME ALIGNMENT OF YOUR VERTABRAE. MOSTLY FIND WHAT IT IS THAT YOU ARE DOING THAT IS COMPROMISING YOUR NECK.

IS IT YOUR POSTURE ? SITTING AT A COMPUTOR ? ETC.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "NOT POPPING YOUR NECK......POPPING YOUR NECK IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO TO YOR NECK.

Pregnant women should be visiting their chiropractor through out their pregnancy just as they should be seeing their gyno. I would deffinately visit one. I'm currently seeing a chiropractor (though not pregnant) and feel sooo much better!

springmountainchiropractic.com thats my chiropractor and he gives tons of good information on these issues.

Go to a chiropractor. You should never crack your own neck. Probably why it's messed up now.
