Redfish rigs?

Pig fish, Clam, Mud minnows, Squid and Sand Fleas, work very good for Reds, you might want to try rigging up a sinker slider what it does is it lets your line drift out just off the bottom makes the bait appear to be more real then just dangling back and forth.

I do a lot of salt water fishing too we just go to this one draw bridge and fish the channel for reds trout schnook and whatever else happens along. The rigs we use are altogether different from what most people have ever seen they might be a little tuff at first to get used to tying but it is worth the fish they land.

INGUN nailed it! Depending on WHERE your going in the Gulf, you might also have some good luck using 1/4-1/2 OZ Jigs/Berkley Power Grubs or Texas-Rigged Saltwater Jerk-baits. Pomps have "eagle eyes". Def go with 10-12LB flurocarbon leaders and the smallest possible weight! It's important to find "moving tidal influence" and "differences" in bottom-structure if you plan to hit a beach in the Gulf and do well. A "run-out" or sandbar with a drop-off into deeper water would be a primo place to investigate. Expect very little action on "just any 'ole Beach". You MUST "do your homework" and investigate good spots to fish or your gonna be stuck in "Catfish Land"! If I were you, I would find an inlet, bridge, or jetty to fish! Fishing these areas will increase your odds of catching something decent by 50%! Good luck!
