Try taking it to someone that works with shoes,
(fixes shoes, shines shoes. . .the shoe man)
or take it to the Dry cleaners, they work on stuff like that getting ('DYE') and other stains off of leathers and suede.
good luck

Try calling Tandy Leather and see if they have a stripping product. Or any lacquer stripper will most likely due. Just when you was it use a cream rinse and let it air dry the cream rinse will keep it soft and supple. Always go with a darker color when re-dying. Fine grain sand paper to use on the deeper cracks and leather wax will help fill in the smaller cracks.... S

I would try using Saddle Soap. It may take a lot of buffing and working the leather but this should work for you. You can buy saddle soap in most farm supply stores like Orschelin's or Tractor Supply Company.

Use a Black and Decker grinder.
