I heard a rumor there was a new movie coming out based on a H.P. Lovecraft story.?

Anybody happen to know if this is true and what the name of the movie is?

    There was some speculation that the movie codenamed "Cloverfield" is based on the Cthullu mythos that Lovecraft is most famous for, but this has been denied, and the plot details that have leaked since sound more like the Alien movies then Cthullu.
