How sad is it when some people come on answers just to rag on motorcycles the don't own or like?

I rarely see Harley riders running down other brands here unless they are provoked, while riders who own other types of bikes seem to hate harleys for no reason, or are still stuck on bad production models from 30 years ago. The club I ride with welcomes all makes of bike as long as they are safe and at least 250 cc. I have owned suzuki, honda, yamaha, and harley, and have found good and bad in all of them. Riding styles are personal preferences, and it makes little sense to run down someone just because they don't ride like you do. We ride because we love it, not so we can show up someone else.

I agree..... and some people like to kick up their self worth by shooting other things down.

I think it is really pitiful when someone makes derogatory comments about the choices other make. It seems to happen everywhere, not just with motorcycles.

I believe it mostly stems from jealousy and those who rag on others are secretly wishing they had whatever the item is, and to a smaller degree it is probably likely some people show this disrespect because they are trying to act tough in front of others, trying to "big note" themselves.

I think everyone on two wheels deserves the same respect. Remember no matter what they ride, you don't know the circumstances behind their choice in motorcycles, it may be all they can afford. It may be because of a medical condition, it may be in memory of a loved one or even as respect for a lifetime buddy or it just may be their life long dream.

We should just appreciate the fact other riders enjoy the freedom of being on two wheels. Amazingly enough you will find that in times of hardship, motorcycle riders of all marques come together to support each other without judgement or discrimination, which is how it should be without an accident or death to remind us we ride because we enjoy it.

too many non-riders....and i'm bettin 3-5 odds that most dont have what it takes to stay alive on a ninja 250 much less a 883 harley that would be almost double the weight....but slower in speed.

for those that dont like the term 'squid'.....maybe if u were to quit riding like 1, and quit acting like the road is a race track, maybe the calls of 'squid' would stop. u show me 1 harley rider....or other cruiser rider....that rides as reckless as squids on a rocket. they call em rice rockets for a reason. 1 they're from japan, and 2....no other bike will go from 0-110 in 3 seconds.

Also budget preferences! If I had the budget of a Harley rider, I'd junk the ratbike I have now and get onto something new.

  • you hit the nail right on the head...you are sopposed to be riding for the LOVE, not the IMAGE...so no matter what it is,,it takes just as much skill and brains to ride it...my neighbor is a harley mechanic and spends more time trying to keep his brand new harley running because its modified,,but hey thats what hes into, i heard if you dont do anything to them they're fine....i respect everyone equally on two wheels...as long as they respect their ride!!!

I think people are tired of the showoff on the rice rocket. Who gives a rat's @$$ if they can ride a wheely or go fast? I respect most people that ride normal bikes and Harleys because I know they're just out to enjoy the ride, not show off. People that show off are lacking in other areas except for the mullet.

    Very sad.

I really like to ride, and consider myself lucky to have had the different motorcycles I've had.
