Modem/Router issue looking for opinions?
I have a netopia DSL modem connected to a Netgear wireless b/g router. Nearly everyday I have to power cycle the modem and router to get the internet to work. Sometimes this happens at random while working online, though not often. I do tech support for Cable modems so I'm familiar w/ them and not too much w/ the DSL side of things, anyone have any ideas? Also, does anyone know how to obtain the IP addy for the dsl modem to access its internal page?

One of the most common problems for what your experiencing is a result from the dynamic IP. Once the external IP changes it causes the system to become "lost". If you look into the interface for the router, you should see the IP for the modem. You can access the external IP of the modem via www.whatismyip.com and see if you can get to the console from there.
Otherwise, remove the router from the equation and hook directly to the modem. Do a ipconfig /all from the command prompt and find the internal IP of the modem. Access it, and note the DNS for your service. Once you have that, ensure that the router has those dns servers listed, or add them to the tcp/ip config on the PC.
