are the mentally disabled/insane allowed to believe in god?

if so, what % of the flock is mentally disabled/insane?

    My cousin has full blown paranoid schizophrenia and she wholeheartedly believes in God and Christianity. I think that's why her hallucinations take on religious forms, such as of God, Jesus, angels and demons. Don't know what percentage of religious people have mental illness, but I would suppose its similar to percentage of non-religious people. The only difference is in how they interpret their illness.
