When I open a 2003 word file on word 2007 does it change the extension for the file or not?

You see I have both microsoft office 2007 and 2003 but most computeres at school use micrsoft office 2003 and my printer has been sketchy! Any way when I open a microsoft 2003 word file in word 2007 will it change the extenintion when i save it?

    No it never change. If u seave it as a Word 2007 document then it'll b saved as .docx format. But the original file will b in it's same format.

    I don't know much about MS 07, but from what I understand it'll still save it as the default .DOC extension unless you change it. Plus I also think it has the ability to keep the 03 compatibility, just make sure to save to that version.
