Well this is a very common problem with todays vehicals
and GM did not make it any easier by providing and access panel .
you would have to have fuel line disconnect tools and then drop the fuel tank .. bare in mind that a Gallon of gass wieghes about 8 pounds so you want the tank down to a 1/4 if possible so it wieghes less
then slowly unfasten the straps that hold the fuel tank till the jack has the weight having a friend help you balance it till you can get it down.
then by or rent the tool to remove the retainer ring and the fuel pump module will come out .
when you replace the module take care to not bend the float leaver. on second thought let a professional handle this for you
if i was doing the job it would run 120.00 labor plus the cost of the pump so thats your rough pricing for the job.
check your local shop for exact pricing on labor

Nothing can be more difficult and dangerous ---fuel pumps and system repairs car ruin you day in a heartbeat--one wrong spark and YOU are toasted. Free up the money and have it done properly at a good shop. Fumes are your biggest problem--any drops of gasoline put off fumes--static electricity from your hair or clothes can set it off. That is ONE example of what can do it. Spark a tool on metal or spark a wire---POOF--you are a crispy critter. Even if you do not burn--the brass fittings are extremely weak and I doubt that you have the tools needed to work with barss fittings---not real pretty when you screw them up and all your work was for nothing. Usually the resulting pool of dripping gasoline explodes as you stand there wondering why.

Take a look on Autozone.com Find the part you need and look for a link that says something like Repair Info on the parts description page. That may help.
