Dog Health Conditions – Breathing Problems

If your dog has a distinct wheeze, a veterinarian visit should be scheduled. Some coughing could indicate dog health problems such as a respiratory infection or heart disease. Occasional panting could indicate a nervous or overheated dog. Other respiratory symptoms could represent more serious possibilities for dog health problems such as heartworm.

If your dog is displaying abnormal breathing habits then do not take it lightly. Distressed or unusual rhythmic breathing can be a life-threating sign of a major problem to your dog's health. Pleural effusions of blood and puss can cause a persistent cough, in addition to breathing troubles. Your dog may also show a complete lack of energy and movement. If there is shallow breathing, then this may be an indication of damage to your dog's ribs. And be on the watch for rapid breathing, which could be a severe problem due to long, heart, or kidney disease.

What to do: Consult your veterinarian right away if you detect the above breathing symptoms. Do not waste time in getting your dog medical attention just because you cannot see or feel an injury. Remember, there may be severe internal damage coming from your dog's body. Your vet may have to use pleural effusions which are surgically tapped and drained to reduce pressure on the lungs.

It sould possibly be reversed sneezes. I am no expert, but my dog does this alot. Sometimes they can make a dog sound like it is sick or has a breathing problem. It could be brought on by allergies. The vet can give you more information. Good luck on your little one!

Try to get him checked for allergies. I give my dog half a childrens chewable benadryl every day during allergy season. HE has the wheezing too. IT is allergy induced asthma..

Dogs get the same illnesses as humans. Also ask the vet to check him for allergies too. they will just tell you benadryl though. .

I would not put him down.. that is stupid.. who the heck would do that esp over that. Also is he over weight. Try a lighter food he may even be allergic to the food. Try a different food too.

    innova is great

california natural is best for allergies

I would take him to the vet.

There are so many things it could be. He may have allergies, or it could be there is something outside that is irritating him, its hard to say. The best person to talk to is the vet.

Have you taken him to the vet? Guessing what's wrong with him isn't going to identify, let alone solve, the problem.

Take him to the vet, OK?

Out of the hyperlink beneath, my philosophy is that puppies have unique feelings and exhibit it many unique approaches. I additionally knew this off the bat earlier than my study. My buddies puppies eyes had been watering, his tail used to be no longer wagging and he used to be smiling. He grew to become out to be k. But I accept as true with one remark, they're blissful and so they wish to exhibit it. They quite often exhibit it with their tail, however frequently with a grin.
