Yes. He is still responsible for your well being. If a step father were to petition to adopt you and your father signed away all legal rights to you, then he would be absolved of paying further child support, but he would owe any back, unpaid amount up to then.

Depends on your age and the state you are in. Generally child support has nothing to do with retirement per se. However, if your father has the case reviewed (depending on state), your mother will have to show that she is retired, her income and also include any other person living in the residence. Mainly because if the custodial parent is having help with the rent and other bills, then the amount and the income level has changed, then the child support amount will be adjusted accordingly. It is usually not done just because. One or the other party will have to request a review.

As long as the children are under the age of 18 then child support will be paid. It has to do with what the court decides that he is supposed to do.

It does not matter what your mother's situation is...your father pays until you are 18, unless the divorce papers say otherwise....like he has to pay until you finish college. Most judges require child support until the legal age of 18 though.

I think child support is paid until they are 18 or until the time that the courts say. I'm not much help cause I dont know anything about that. Sorry!
