How to get from the bus station to the boats.?
We plan to take one of the cruises from Vancouver to Alaska. Coming from the east coast of the US, we are thinking of taking the train to Seattle, WA and then the bus to Vancouver. I suspect this dumps you in the middle of town, so what's the best way to get to the boats? About how far is it and how much would it cost by either mass transport or taxi?

Why don't you take a train from Seattle to Vancouver? A very pleasant journey a bit more expensive than a bus but definitely worth it! You'll also avoid the lines at the boarder ...
Take a taxi from the station (regardless whether you choose to get to Vancouver by bus or train) It'd take max 10 minutes. Skytrain is an option (it is right across the street from the station) Check Translink site.

You should take the train all the way to Vancouver. Either way, bus station is right next to the skytrain station which can take you to Canada Place, where the cruise ships dock. However the skytrain maybe awkward if you have lots of luggage. Just take a taxi, it's not that far.

If you get dropped off downtown then there is a bus stop from The Bay that will take you almost anywhere you have to be.
I think the max it will cost you is $3.75 for that far of a commute. Also check out the Skytrain for routes.

If you take the Greyhound bus from Seattle you get off at Terminal and Main not the best part of town. You'll have suitcases and bags so take a cab for about $10.00.
