What copy protection is on BMG music CDs now in the UK?
Just got a brand new UK 2004 dated CD, which has a list of playability on various types of device, and implies that copy protection is in place. It does not say XCP so I guess the rootkit problem doesn't apply, but what the heck are they using now? My work PC will not play it. It's a BMG / RCA label.
Good info guys, thanks. I'm only interested in playing the CD in a PC at the mo, not ripping it to MP3 or copying, but I'm worried about what sneakware I may be putting in my PC by playing it.

Just what I was going to say^^;
CDex (currently 1.71Beta2) will rip almost all copy protected CD's. The only ones that really cause problems are those which break the tracks into pieces. And if you have the track times, CDex will even rip those for you.
It works fine on both Xp and Vista (32 and 64). You may need to set the cd-drives max speed in the CD settings, otherwise it can default to 4x.
