The girls wear blue or red uniform shirts to school, 72% of the girls are wearing blue uniform shirts. If 56 girls are wearing red uniform shirts, how many are wearing blue?

    if 72% of the girls wear blue uniform then, 28% of the girls wear red uniform.

    let x be the number of total girls

    56 = .28x

    x = 200

    there are 200 girls total

    200 - 56 = 144 girls wear blue uniform

    answer is 144

    56 is 28 percent

    so 56 divided by 28% is 200 (total number of girls)

    200 less 56 is equals to 144
