You are generally correct, but what you have failed to factor in is the amount of money Algore will make when he convinces everyone to buy carbon offsets from his company. When he and his minions realized how much could be made, the alarmism went through the roof.

there is none. "climate: and "climate" are 2 very somewhat some issues. See definitions linked under, or seem up the words on your dictionary. "international" and "nearby" are opposites.
