Only thing i can think of is he is VERY bitter about his mothers death still and is angry that Ian has kinda gone on with his life marrying Jane etc and bringing up Cindy's children... Also maybe his real dad helped kinda poison him against Ian. I think before he left for New Zeland he was angry with Ian about Cindy.

He did go to A LOT of trouble tho :|

Ian and Steven parted on bad terms, this is a daft storyline though why come back from new zeeland to terrorise Ian. Just a daft way of bringing in someone new.

I thought Ian and Steven got on anyway didnt ian often go out to New Zealand to Visit him with Pat as well

i thought that when stephen left he and Ian fell out. And Pat convinced Ian to go with her to NZ, and I think even then that Stephen and Ian didn't get on.

I think stephen hated Ian alot
