You know, there is so much out there you will probably get a different answer from everyone. My personal favorite since I can remember is PineSol. Does the job well and smells good... what else could a guy want? Good Luck

Life Tree has a wonderful product called Lavendar and Tea Tree Oil Bathroom Cleaner. It safe on most floors, (don't use on hardwood or laminate floors though). It cleans, disinfects and smells really good.

Sudsy ammonia cleans best but needs rinsing;
Pine-sol is, probably, most popular. If there are babies or animals, Pine-sol is safe when dry. Do not use a swiffer. About two years ago, I found a concentrated cleaner via healthypet (or similar) which is pet-safe and made for cement floors - I 'phoned the manufacturer re dilution instructions and was told to use 1/4 the label-recommended
amount. This gave me squeaky-clean, pet and child-safe, floors for a cost of $28 including postage - it lasted, almost, two years so well worth the initial investment cost. Have fun cleaning!

I found the best kitchen/bath floor cleaner is 50% hot water 50% Vinegar and a few drops of lemon juice. It cleans well and after it is dry, everything smells fresh and clean.
Source(s): I use this when cleaning floors in my home and at other homes. - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

Ammonia can be very harsh. My mom has Cystic Fibrosis, she cannot be in the same area as that chemical. Fumes can be deadly when it comes to household cleaners. Follow all safety directions. We use typical Lysol (disinfectant for the floor) or dilute a small amount of Clorox bleach with water to kill germs. Of course hardwoods would require different products.
Hope this helps!

A solution of Borax and warm water. I just mopped with this today and hte floors look great. It removes the dirt, leaves a great shine and a fresh smell.
