No, they do both ECW & Smackdown on the same night, taping ECW for Sci-Fi Tuesday & Smackdown for its CW Friday slot. That's why you hear the same ring announcer for both brands.

Taz was the Smackdown comentator but since they were starting the brand new ECW they moved him to ECW just because he is familiar with that style along with Joey styles

the guys from ECW are promoted to Smackdown, guys from smackdown are demoted ECW. this happened every years.
