Two weeks is not enough?
My family just got back from our vacation in Philippines. Mostly spent in Zamboanga, Davao and Manila in that order. All I can say is "Awesome". But, it just went by like a typhoon. We enjoyed every moment spent like: local shopping, beaches, the food and fruits and mingling with the relatives, reconnecting with the roots.
Bottom line, two weeks is not enough. I'm coming back for more.
I know this is a question I already answered. This should be in the forum. I just want to let you know, that "two weeks is NOT enough".
I guess I've learned my lesson. Sorry, for not contacting you "Yapper's" of my arrival. That should have been a "blast" specially our COY in the Southwest and Magwawali in Cebu, thanks guys! But I did manage to take thousands of photos with me which I'm making a DVD out of it.
I'm back and nice to hear from you.

Wow! We would have loved to hear from you while you were here, next time email me and we will try to get together with the wives for lunch somewhere.
You could have made a quick stop in Cebu (LOL).
Good to see you back.....
God Bless...

I go to the Philippines often. I find two weeks is actually about right for me. While it is true that you could live a lifetime there and never see it all, the world is a big place. There are many places to go and only so much time. 4 days in Manila, 4 days in a beach resort (Boracay, Palawan, etc.) 4 days in Cebu or somewhere else, and you get a good flavor of the county. To each his or her own, but I would hate to think someone skipped the country because they only had a few days. Even flying into Manila for three days will let you see a lot. It is not like the rest of Asia, that is for sure.
Go with an open and accepting mind.

I agree! My husband and I just returned from a 2-week vacation in the Philippines, September 1st through the 13th. Stayed mostly in Manila, but also visited Pagsanjan Falls and Cebu. Had a blast! Enjoyed the food, the people, the beer, the non-stop partying, the beach. Oh, by the way. We visited a beach resort in Mactan, Cebu just for the day. We had an eerie ghostly encounter in the weirdest place---the ladies toilet room. We all heard the same thing, a cold and very sad female moan. We all just prayed that she would someday find eternal peace.
I miss the Philippines already!

It's good to hear that there are a lot of people who still love the Philippines. For decades now, the country has been plagued by social and economic woes. Thus it has lagged behind its Asian neighbors.
Hopefully, things would change for the better this time. With a robust economy, the Philippines should be a better place to live in or visit.
I'd like to visit again soon. But my schedule has been preventing me from going back. Well, I hope I'd have the chance again next year. Or the year after.

I am not from the Philippines but somehow I consider it like home to me, no kidding. Whenever I am there for a visit which is normally a month or so, and then its time for me to leave, I would feel like being magnetized, this feeling of I have to leave and at the same time I really don't want to. So to be honest with you, even if you had a month vacation you would still be saying I wish I had more time. Two weeks is just too short of a trip.

Yes, two weeks is not enough, especially if your going for vacation. Just imagine how big is your family back in Philippines, the relatives, friends and everyday you need to put time with them. And tourist destination is anywhere and you don't have much time to go around and visit the place.
Lucky me, last time I went for vacation takes 2 months. It was summertime and we did enjoyed a lot.

Definitely two weeks is not enough if you want to savor everything the Philippines has to offer. Be sure the next time you come, stay at least 3 months to have your fill - the sights, the food and of course, the friends and family you have here.

Tell me about it...
I spent 26 days there last summer and it felt as if I didn't even have time to unpack my things from the UK.
I have spent all-in-all 6 years of my life in the Philippines (vacations + studies) and I still can't get enough of it.
Must be the air... no wait, the water... no wait, the relenless honking of jeepney horns.
Japanese tourists can say whatever the hell they want about my home-country, I still think there's no place like it!

Yes, two weeks is not enough when touching base with friends and family to re-connect roots. You would be chasing time in a frenzy, squeezing every opportunity to be with these people in your life. Indeed, if we could only be at five places at the same time, then two weeks could have been enough. Wishful thinking (winks!)...

Even a year is not enough.
I'm in the Philippines for 24 years and still it's not enough.
