Why not let Mahmoud Ahmadinejad go to Ground Zero?

I think that the leader of a country that calls the US a "great satan" and threatens to wipe out the only democratic country in the middle east would not be using the opportunity to go to ground zero to honor and respect the victims of the 9/11 attack, but to use it as a photo-op to prove he is a really nice guy, despite all he has done to state the contrary. His presence is a mockery to people who died at the hands of people who are just like him. If he really did have any respect for the people who died at the hands of Islamic terrorism, he'd stop supporting it by calling back support of the Shia militias in Iraq, the financial support of Hezbollah, and cease his nuclear program ASAP.

I personally do not believe Ahmadinejad is sorry that the WTC's fell. In fact Iran is listed as the leading country in the world for sponsoring terrorism. Why should we give him a photo op to be used as a propaganda tool to further his nefarious aims?

Now we could let him show up but I would not be surprised if someone assassinated him. As much as I do not like the guy I don't think this would be helpful either. I guess the NYPD were right to deny him on the grounds of security issues.
