this is not a question per say, but the other day I recieved a best answer noticed, and then a winner notice?

Question

it was wierd, and I didn't know how to report it to yahoo.  Right after recieving the notification of having a best answer, I recieved this notice claiming  to be from yahoo that I had won some prize.  I assumed it was of course a scam of some sort.  it was from Ireland and looked like an official Yahoo site, anybody else get this one?

this is a real problem
you are not the first victim of this cruel attempt to get your personal info
if you have not replied don"t
if you do you will get an email needing you to send bank account info so they can release the funds
hold on they owe you money
theres a red light
wish it was true

And just deleting emails does nothing
they can still send you mail

this is for when some one is sending the same email to alot of people
a great way to spam alot of people with just a few mouse clicks
go to yahoo mail
then Options
then Spam Protection
and set the setting to delete immediately upon arrival

The lottery winner thing is a scam. If it shows to have come from a Yahoo email address, forward the complete message (including headers) to network-abuse@cc.yahoo-inc.com.

No, I haven't but I think other Y!A posters mentioned it.  So far as I know, when we play this game there are no tangible rewards except our points and a nice outlet and hopefully giving someone a little help once in awhile.  Just delete the darn things and forget it.

Yahoo! doesn't hold lotteries. You didn't win anything. Sorry. It was spam. And you should never click a link in a spam email. And never respond to spam. Just delete it.
