Hey, I respect your right not to breastfeed...as it is YOUR choice..

Oh and yes Engorged breasts do hurt... But you shouldn't have too much trouble with it ..because if you aren't planning on breastfeeding at all than you won't have that much milk production... It shouldn't take to long for it to dry up. I breastfed my 1st for 4 months and when I quit it was painful for like a day or so but it wasn't too bad.. SO I wouldn't think it would be that bad for you.. But below are some tips that might help... I just copied and pasted these from the link at the very bottom....GOOD LUCK

Apply cold compresses, gel packs or cold cabbage leafs to your breasts. This helps reduce swelling and can contribute to diminishing the milk supply if used consistently. If you use chilled cabbage leaves, replace every couple of hours.

Try over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to relieve some discomfort.

Check breasts frequently for blocked ducts and potential mastitis or breast abscess. If you have any concerns, contact your doctor or a lactation consultant

Hi! The cabbage does work. Here are some other tips: Avoid hot showers (easier said than done). The heat often brings on leaking. What may help is showering away from the water-back into it. Apply ice compresses to your breasts when you have a chance. I believe they say three to four times a day for as long as you can tolerate it. My friend did the cabbage thing and it worked. Good luck!

I have heard about wrapping cabbage around your breasts. Engorged breast hurt and they hurt a lot. If you are sure you dont want to breastfeed your doc can prescribe you a medicine to dry the milk up faster.

My friend just had a baby 2 months ago and her milk didn't come in right away so she formula fed. She got engorged and said use the cabbage with ice packs on top of it and it really does work.

Breast feeding is the easiest way to feed your baby. No sterilizing and washing bottles and fake nipples, no messing around with formula, which by the way makes your babie's poop smell much worse than the poop of a breast fed baby. Breast feeding makes your life so much easier when your little one is suddenly hungry in the night or when he is grumpy and restless, or sick. Breast feeding will help you to lose the baby weight and the closeness you will feel to your baby is indescribable. Plus, studies show that breast fed babies have higher IQs. Please give breast feeding a try.
