Was Jesus straight?

Does scripture attest to that?

Update:

I mean, Christians are always about how sexuality is a conscious choice / decision, right? So what was his?

I'll go out on a limb and say that there's no way for us to know what His sexual tendencies were. That said, He never had sex with anyone nor even lusted after anyone as He never sinned, so it doesn't really matter if He leaned gay or straight. (My vote would be for straight since I believe that He was perfectly spiritually healthy). Scripture tells us that He was tempted in all the same ways that we are, and since some human beings are tempted by homosexuality, it would not surprised me if that was one of His temptations, too. This would also mean that He was tempted heterosexually, too.

I know that Christians often *do* say that just *being* gay is a sin, even if you never lust and you are unwaveringly committed to chastity. I think this is a complete crock. Sexual sin is sexual sin, and as long as a person is chaste, it doesn't matter in which direction they are tempted. How in the world can we possibly expect gay people to come to Jesus if they can't even be sexually sinless through chastity?

Anyone who tells you that it can be proved by scripture which way Jesus 'leaned' is stretching things a bit, I think. I've yet to see a scripture like that. What we *do* know, without question, is that Jesus *never* sinned. So what difference does it really make?

Source(s): Just to clarify, having sex is not a sin if you are married to the person you are having sex with. Far from it, I think that God actually *wants* us to have an active and fulfilling sex life with our spouses. (I once heard: The devil will do anything he can to get you to have sex before you're married, and anything he can to get you *not* to have sex after you are). Since Jesus was apparently never married, He never had sex.

Yes He is straight. Yes the scripture attests to that fact. He was, is, and will continue to be perfect. Also He would not have called it a Sin for one man to sleep with another man. Peace

I don't believe there is any reference in scripture to any sexual activity or interest by Jesus. I'm willing to be wrong - if someone posts a convincing scriptural quote, I'll delete my Q and forfeit the points.

Straight? as in sexual preference or straight as in Honest???

According to Scripture he preached in the synagogue. According to Jewish law a man has to be married to preach in the Synagogue! There for he must surely be Normal in that sense.

We also know that he was honest and righteous, loving and generous. So I guess the answer is yes he was. As in Scriptural references. Read the New Testament. The whole thing so you don't miss anything!

thus this is what the scriptures do not say as antagonistic to what they do. Jesus had to married because of the fact he stored the regulation of Moses completely and in no way sinned. if that's so he had to be married. additionally if he wasn't he does not have been conventional and the could have been relentless approximately this.

Jesus was a straight, unmarried and perfect, sinless man.

The Bible tells that He was sinless. That explains it.

Yes. The bible does not directly say he was, but he could not have been perfect, and without sin to die for us if he wasn't, then he'd be a homosexual, and that is a sin, so he couldn't die for us

Well he stood staight up when he preached about not sleeping with anothers man's wife, or another man.

Just getting straight to the point...
