What is the worst genre of music?
My vote is that post grunge nonsense bands like Nickleback and Hinder subject us to. These songs are always played on alternative rock stations, but I can't imagine anything more mainstream and less alternative than this. Rap metal is a close second.

must be anything to do with tacky tv talent shows. Look at the "stars " they've made, ain't one got a shelflife longer than a loaf of bread.

Sorry, I like post grunge bands like those you listed and more. I would say that the worst genre is the current pop/rap stuff. For example, Rihanna, T-Pain, & Akon make THE MOST annoying crap I have ever heard. The new wave of rappers pretending to be rockers is also horrible.

Top 40 pop, and the "post-grunge" crap that you describe. I mostly listen to Punk rock, but I can find anything interesting except those two. And its funny that those bands are called "Post-grunge", because Nirvana and Pearl Jam were the opposite of those bands. they were, edgy, and properly represented Punk and Alternative to mainstream artists.

Nickleback and Hinder are horrible.
Emo is nauseating.
Rap is disgusting.
To get good rock/metal you gotta go old skool.
Today's idea of this music is way off what I grew up with. I tend to stick with the same old cds and like it that way.

The trailer park family of post-grunge that you mentioned is right up there. We could also throw in Puddle of Mudd and Shinedown as well. Emo might be the worst though because the fans are even more vile than the music. Why? Both are overly dramatic and stupid.

I don't think there's a bad genre of music - there are just artists who lack the talent and creativity who make bad music.
I mean it's a matter of taste what one likes - just like with everything, but when an artist is GOOD it almost doesn't matter what you like and what genre he belongs to - it's easy to recognize and respect the talent! (Unless u r an ignorant hater!)

-the last fifteen or so years of gangsta rap (don't dis the NWA)
-modern country
-I agree with the Frat Punk thing above
-whatever genre that Mambo #5 song and the Vengaboys claim to belong to (I always called it "Jersey shore dance club hair-bunny F*** music")
-anything stained by the wretched touch of Bette Midler
