Hitting a plateau, getting that desperate feeling?
I work out 5x a week and am not on any special diet although I eat way less than I used to. How do I get past this? What is my next step? I want something realistic. No lettuce diets, pills or magic drinks, but something that I can do for the rest of my life. I am almost to my goal, I can almost taste the victory!
FYI--I take a kick-boxing class, so I would say it is a good combo of cardio and strength training.

Plateaus can happen for a variety of reasons. Overtraining can be one. 5 days a week may be a bit too much and could cause the plateau. Plateaus can also be caused by your muscles adapting to your routine. Changing up your exercises could re-invigorate your workout to previous levels. Try doing the kickboxing less and adding something else like running, weights, basketball or something else you might enjoy!!

I had a friend who was around 185 at 5'6" she lost about 40 lbs in 3 to 4 months. All she did was start taking yoga and started eating only organic foods. It was such an amazing change. She looks great. Organic drinks and foods and yoga! That's it! Try it for a while and see. It really is not that much more expensive to buy the organic stuff as opposed to the stuff with all of the preservatives and steroids.
