Attention Chrysler/Jeep!!!?
Does any corp Chrysler/Jeep suits come to this site? If so....GM has now intruduced the new 2008 H3 Alpha. Yes....I think the H3 is rather lame.....BUT it has a V8! 295 hp 317 ft-lbs of tourque! Will you now install the 4.7 ltr V8 w/302 hp & 320 ft lbs of tourque that is availabe Grand Cherokee and the Dakota series p/u trucks?! This new H3 WILL cut into your Wrangler sales as on as it has that lame 3.8 mini van engine.
(I really could care less about the HEMI.....you have HEMI'D us to death. It not even a true HEMI.....shame on you!)

If you read some of the early test drive reports for the H3 alpha they all agree its a dog. They had to shoehorn that engine into a chassis that is not made for a v-8, so heat is an issue as well as service. The 3.8 in the wranglers is really not a bad motor. They have been around for years and give reliable service well past 200,000 miles if taken care of. The 4.7L wasn't used because it doesn't fit, it is too wide. The most likely engine upgrades are the 4.0L from the nitro, pacifica and 08 minivans. Or the 4 cyl. diesel from the overseas markets. Both would be an upgrade in torque, but the 4.0 would be a step down in mileage. If you compare the wrangler and H3 point by point the wrangler is the better vehicle by a lot, but some people just want that hummer look. The interior of the H3 is boring and quite cheap, the current 5cyl. engine was upgraded with more HP and torque, but the v-8 will out do it. The alpha models are supposed to start in the 37 to $38,000 range, not exactly the same range as the wrangler.
