This is an ongoing problem and is affecting a whole lotta people!
The Beta team knows about it and is supposedly working on the problem. At this point-please go to the beta feedback form and let them know what you are experiencing. Love your 360? Let them know that also! http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/forms_index.h...

No, it's 4 images OR 3 images + an avatar.
But there have been problems for some time now regarding photos showing or not seemingly at random. Yahoo! is aware of this problem, and as always they are "looking into this and working on a solution". ;)
So please be patient, and limit yourself to 3 images (or 2 + 1 avatar) for the time being.
