my top fav would have to be a portable DVD player with car recharger thrown in and they start at only$99 dollars.A good item that can be enjoyed on long trips in the car,train,or the odd camping trip his kids will enjoy it too.
why not also think about getting a DVD of the history of jazz to include with the DVD player,as well as some gourmet coffee beans ,grinder (if he doesn't have one and peculator one of the manual kind)
