Can UV light cause harm to an unborn baby?

I was drying my nails at the nail salon today, when a pregnant woman was about to sit down. She decided against it and said she wanted to use a dryer that didn't have UV light.

Can UV light be harmful to an unborn baby? I don't know why she avoided the dryer, but it just got me thinking. Does anybody know anything about this!?!

Thanks for your answers :)

High doses of UV light can stop you from absorbing folic acid which is vital in the early stages of your baby's development. But even then, you'd need to be on a sunbed constantly or something similar for it to effect you. I think she's just being cautious.
